Bought my 2000 Golf GLS 2.0 a few weeks ago:
The Plan:
Fix small interior problems
Center console conversion
Re-upholster pillers, door cards, rear deck, center armrest
Lower it on coilovers, probably Raceland
Rims, so far I'm liking the Audi A8's or the "Fat Fives"
A bit of body work, couple small dings here and there
Paint
Things that need fixing:
Rattling noise coming from the catalytic converter - thinking about just cutting it out
ABS light is on - computer says abs pump isnt getting enough power
AC/heater knob wont turn over to heat - linkage problem?
Driver side heated seat not working - ?
Static coming from the front passenger tweeter - loose wire?
Sticky pop-out cup holders - replace center console with newer version that has built in cup holders
Glovebox is loose, theres a hole in the front pass. speaker grill, a crack in the front drivers side window switch cover, broken mirror adj knob, and the fabric is coming loose on that door aswel - picked up a glovebox and both front door panels from a local part out for 80 bucks so just gotta switch em out.

Plans:
APR Stage 2+
Downpipe
Audi RNS-E conversion (nav headunit)
Coilovers (possibly air in the future)
Different wheels
S3 Front End
S3 LED Tails
Debadged (except Audi rings)
Smoked side and corner markers
That will probably be about it until it's paid off. I may end up doing the Xenon headlight conversion, but it's pretty involved and will take a good amount of work to wire them and set them up in vag-com.
72 bug cruiser
Rail buggy I built in 2007. Tons of fun in the woods.
I've got 3 other air cooled VW projects as well, I'll try to find pics to post later.
